Five, ‘famous’ Midland Sailing Club ILCA sailors took part in the Barnt Green Open on Saturday 22nd April 23 in winds ranging from light through to Force 3 in the gusts and taking advantage of Birmingham Rowing Club having an exclusive use day at Edgbaston Reservoir.
In a fleet of 16, ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 dinghies our group managed to offer good competition throughout the fleet. Race one and three counted towards the final results due to a Race Officer error sending the fleet to the wrong mark for the finish line and creating confusion across the whole fleet!
Never the less, we think that Dean Jung finished (ILCA 7) 4th , Laz Andronis (ILCA 6) 5th, Alex Homer (ILCA 7) 8th , Oliver Mason (ILCA 7) 10th and Ilana Davis (ILCA 6) 12th, as final results have not yet been posted online.
The next ILCA Midlands Grand Prix Open Meeting is at Chase Sailing Club on Sunday 7th May.
