‘Out of the Blue’ Sailability Sessions for people with Parkinson’s Disease

Thursdays 1-4pm

In August 2025, we launched a new dedicated programme for people with Parkinson’s Disease, offering sailing and paddleboarding activities for people from complete beginners to those who have sailed and owned their own boats in the past.

We use specially designed Hansa Access Dinghies for beginners learning to sail and have a range of other Club Dinghies for people returning to sailing, with experienced Instructors assisting people of all levels. Buoyancy aids are provided and must be worn at all times when on the water. You can wear normal clothes when sailing in a Hansa Access Dinghy, but we recommend you bring an old pair of trainers that you don’t mind getting wet. We have a wide range of wetsuits for people to borrow if they are sailing the other Dinghies, or shorts and T-shirts if the weather is hot! We can accommodate wheelchair users and have a hoist, but please notify us in advance so that we can plan ahead.

Friends and family members are very welcome to attend too.

This programme if supported by the ‘Fairer Futures Fund’ and is free of charge for people with Parkinson’s Disease, but please pre-book your place and also let us know if you need to cancel. Please contact Jess here or 07778 378956 for the Parkinson’s discount code.
